Ripple blanket progress check

Hi everyone 🙂

Here is a quick update on my progress with the ripple blanket. I’ve now completed each of the eight colours twice. I’m really pleased with the 1970’s look and how fast it is growing!

Also, don’t forget to enter the giveaway here. Thank you to everyone who has already entered. I’m pleased you appreciate that I’ve made it really easy for you to have a chance of winning. We seem to be stirring up lots of happy memories together so I’m loving reading all about your favourite gifts 😀

Time to crochet!!

It looks great. You could use the same pattern to make a scarf.

    • Yes, Teje had the idea to make a cowl. It would make up really fast and it’s nice and chunky so would make a perfect scarf too 🙂 Hope your knitting is going well!

It looks amazing Avis. The colours are fabulous together. Think I may have a go at ripple myself. Makes a real change from Granny squares. Have just finished a knitted jacket and am sewing up another sweater I completed a few weeks ago so there is nothing to stop me having a go at a ripple throw. You can really see how gorgeous it is on the pictures of it over the chair. How big are you going to make it?

    • It is really easy! Once the first two rows are done you don’t need to think about it. Two things the pattern doesn’t tell you…..
      1. Use a 4mm hook for DK yarn.
      2. Make the foundation chain with a 5mm hook as it needs to be slack..
I’ve bought 16 x 100g balls and will use all of it. I started with 311 chains which gives 21 ripples. It is 70 inches long and should finish at 56 inches wide.
Go for it. I’ll send you a link for the yarn if you want 100% acrylic.
My least favourite part of knitting is the stitching up, YUK! Good luck with that 🙂
