Five more six inch blocks to share today. They’re all from the Loyal Union Sampler book by Jennifer Chiaverini.
The first one is called Missouri Star.
Nevada needed a little hand stitching.
Next is New Hampshire. I like all the different shapes and lines in this one.
The fourth one is New Jersey. Those tiny white triangles….ugh! I know there’s easier ways to construct the same design but this is how it is in the book so I stuck to it.
The final one today is New York State. It’s one of my favourites so far because I think it could make some interesting patterns if repeated in a quilt.
Almost two thirds completed now.

/ September 28, 2018Normally I tidy and clean at the end of each project. Somewhere along the line, I started too many things at the same time, and now it’s chaotic. And dusty. And full of bits and threads and piles. So I’m not at all surprised that other people have the same problem and it takes time to deal with that.

/ September 28, 2018I always clean up at the end of a project as well but I opened a cupboard door last weekend and thought something radical was needed. Once I got started I couldn’t stop myself going through every cupboard, drawer and box. It doesn’t look any different when you walk in the room but I know it’s all been gone through and I feel so cleansed and organised again. Fun, fun, fun…

/ September 20, 2018All I can say is WOW!. New Hampshire is lovely and you can see so many different shapes in it the more you look at it. New York State is very interesting too. It is really turning into a fantastic collection a tiny blocks. Just wait until they are sew together.
