I was playing with the Singer and I rather enjoy making bags so I made another one! This time with the red lucky cats fabric that my daughter purchased for me when she was in Taipei.
It’s the usual make-it-up-as-you-go-along kind of bag, lined with Moda red solid and a zip closure.
I did some inch wide straight line quilting to make it a bit more luxurious…
…and gave it a bit of a boxy bottom.
The singer has no problems quilting without a walking foot. I just made the stitch length a little longer as if it was for top stitching.
The bag has now been gifted, along with an easy peasy scrappy bookmark (because the recipient likes to read proper books) and some veggie gummy caterpillars from Marks and Spencer. Nom nom!
I should have bought myself some of those ;-). Too late now.

/ April 27, 2018another fabulous piece of sewing, Avis! I’m sure the recipient was thrilled to bits!
btw, the zippy pouch you made for me has officially become my felt tip pen case because, as you know, I do enjoy doing a bit of colouring in, now that adult colouring books are available with all the lovely zentangle type of designs.

/ April 27, 2018I was the very fortunate recipient. I thought the veggie caterpillars were yummy but more than that I loved the bag and of course the bookmark (which is residing in a book right now).
The bag is perfect for my sewing notions when I go away. It was such a lovely surprise from a very special friend. 🙂

/ April 27, 2018You’re very welcome 🙂 I enjoyed making them and it gave the old machine a good workout too. Excellent idea to store your notions in the bag.
