Loyal Union Sampler Block 1/121

Hello everyone,

I’ve finally sewn together the first block of the Loyal Union Sampler from the book by Jennifer Chiaverini. It’s called Abel’s Favorite.

I had some difficulty with the way the seams were pressed and decided there was no way I could think of to make it better than this. I’m really pleased with how it turned out.

The block measures 6.5 inches square so it’ll be 6 inches square when sewn into the finished quilt.

Abel's Favorite

I hope you are all well and getting plenty of time to craft 🙂

    • I’ve actually got part of number two done now but the light has faded so I’m off to sit under the lamp with some cross stitch 🙂

I join Witchylin in saying “only 120 to go” ^^
Am so glad you sorted out seams in this, and it really does look great!

I like that block. I’d probably make it bigger, but there are so many color possibilities with it. Your blue and white choice is always a good one!

  5. I love blue and white quilts, I think they just look crisp. Are you going to try to do a certain number of blocks a week or month?

    • No, I have many other commitments at the moment so I’ll dip in and out of this project whenever I find time to focus on it. I’ve now got four blocks finished and will probably put them to one side now. I’ll definitely finish them all at some point in the future.

  6. It’s so lovely. But so tiny…which makes it nice but tricky. Are you doing it by hand? Jane
