Checking in with a quick WIP report…..

Hi to all of my lovely bloggy pals🙂

Just a few lines today to introduce my latest work in progress. I’m making chevrons with a Moda charm pack called Etchings teamed with some Moda Bella solids. There will be a touch of banding between the chevron strips. Progress is slow but ongoing…..

  2. Looking good. I’m really liking teal/turquoise colours at the moment (or turqloise as Little J would say) and it looks great with the red.

    • Yes, there is very little red in the charm pack so I’m trying to dot it about as randomly as possible. I think I prefer turqloise😆 My daughter used to say cangculator for calculator. We know what they maean🙂

I do like the fabrics together. I think it will be very striking when it is completed. It would be lovely for me to make something else in those shades however I need to get a total colour change because, much as I love them, they don’t really ‘go’ with my living room and that is where the quilts end up. I have not made a chevron design so will be looking at this one with interest.

    • These colours don’t really match my colour scheme either but I do like working with them🙂 There are much easier and quicker ways to do chevrons but I wanted to make use of the charm pack. Five inch squares are quite limiting. Avis x

  5. Hi Avis! That looks exiting! Beautiful colours, I love that Facade print, and chevron with some change is going to be great! I saw one ‘wonky’ and liked it so much. (I guess I have pin it).
Shall we meet at the Blogger’s Quilt Festival? I wish you great Sunday and lovely walk with Archie! x Teje
PS. I want to start a quilt – I have so many ‘small’ projects and I miss concentrating to one big quilt!

    • Thank you Teje! I like the wonky version too🙂 The Bloggers Quilt Festival…….hmmm thanks for reminding me. I am so out of touch these days😉 Archie and I are enjoying being outside for walks but it is very cold for me. He doesn’t seem to notice. I’m putting a new photo on his blog some time today.
I’ll be watching to see your next quilt. There is so much choice. I have started to plan my small project…. the one you inspired many months ago which is still in my head. I think I will make it next😀 I’m sending a big hug to Greece! Avis x

    • Well, Moda do all the choosing for the charm pack so I can’t take responsibility for putting them together😉 Thank you so much for visiting my blog. Avis x

  7. Exciting pattern….I haven’t done anything like that and am really curious to see the finish. Sometimes the unexpected color combos are such fun and yours looks great!!! Hugs, D
